After many seasons as a member of one of the franchise’s most-talked-about duos, Gino Palazzolo is stepping into the spotlight solo on 90 Day: The Single Life Season 5. To celebrate his single era, Gino is sitting down with Swooon to give fans a full, unfiltered look into his life today.

90 Day Fiancé viewers first met Gino in 2022 during Season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days with his ex-wife, Jasmine Pineda, by his side. Heading into The Single Life, Gino told Swooon, “I didn’t really feel I could be myself [in] my past relationship, to be honest.” Now that he’s “single and free,” he’s ready to have some fun.

From his favorite foods to the truth behind his hat-wearing habit, single Gino is ready to bear it all. Without further ado, scroll to find out more about Gino than you’ve ever known before!

Favorite romance movie?

Gino Palazzolo: Maybe the Titanic. That was pretty romantic.

Favorite love song?

Gino: “Lady in Red” [by Chris de Burgh]. The reason I say that is because, when I was only in high school, I was very much in love with this woman, and I used to play that song in my car all the time. That was our song. I was really in love with this woman.

How many hats do you own?

Gino: I own so many hats that they fill my whole second bedroom, completely. So when I open the door, they all fall out. When I open the door to my room, all the hats come piling out on me like an avalanche… I’m just kidding with you on that one.

I believe — how many hats? Probably not as many as you would think. I would say about 10 hats. Ten to 15 hats. Maybe like 10 hats I actually wear consistently, so not as many as you think. Now, I have a few more than that, but a lot of them I won’t wear very often, and some I wear much more regularly. But gee, maybe less than 20.

How many hours a day do you wear a hat?

Gino: Look, first of all, I don’t wear a hat during sex, and I don’t wear a hat in the shower, okay? When I’m at home, I don’t wear a hat because there’s no one here to see me without my hat on. So, obviously, I don’t wear a hat… But the reason I wear a hat, it’s not because I don’t like the way my head looks. Because I do like the way my head looks, to be honest with you, I’m okay with it. But the reason I wear a hat is because I have a little bit of psoriasis on the back of my head, and I don’t like to expose it.

Hopefully, I’ll figure out something technology-wise. Maybe they have better medication. Now, if that happens, I probably will go hatless, because the only thing preventing me from taking my hat off is my psoriasis. Many don’t know that. Many people think, “Oh, Gino doesn’t like his bald head.” Well, that’s not true. I’m okay with how I look.

What’s your favorite food?

Gino: Are you kidding me? You’re really gonna ask me that question? I’m Italiano! I love Italian food. The best meal you could make me is homemade spaghetti. My uncle makes a great batch of it because he uses my grandpa’s recipe. Italian spaghetti sauce that cooks all day with Italian sausage meatballs. That is my #1 meal. Nothing better than that.

We know about your affinity for frozen dinners. Do you have a favorite?

Gino: Well, first of all, I want to say that I know Jasmine [Pineda] made a statement about me throwing TV dinner boxes into my recycle bin with food in them, and that is not true. I only put the boxes in the recycle bin, okay? But there are a lot of boxes in my recycle bin.

I eat a lot of TV dinners right now because I’m single and I’m not motivated to cook for myself. I like to cook for others, so I do eat a lot of TV dinners. My favorite one is probably chicken-fried steak and mashed potatoes. I really have a liking for that. But, you know, Salisbury steak, mac and cheese, meatloaf. I like all that stuff.

Cozy night in or wild night out?

Gino: I would say a wild night out, just to get out and have a lot of fun because you can always be in your house.

Which 90 Day cast members are you closest to?

Gino: The three people that I’m closest to in the franchise are Rob [Warne], Josh [Weinstein], and Jamal [Menzies]. I did a video with [their band, 90 Day Bad Boys] in Vegas, and it was a lot of fun! So I’m closest to them and Florian [Sukaj]. I gotta throw Florian in the mix, because we became really close over The Last Resort.

I have had the opportunity to meet a lot of different cast members because I’ve been on a lot of shows. So I’m very blessed and happy that I’ve met all these cast members. There are a lot of good people on 90 Day.
